Poultry Show Update
PLEASE TAKE NOTE: Poultry Biosecurity Announcement
The Illinois Department of Agriculture has filed for an emergency rule prohibiting the sale or exhibition of poultry and poultry products at Illinois events, including fairs, to prevent the spread of avian influenza. These rules will be assessed in in 45-day increments and will stay in effect for up to 150 days. This would apply to 4-H shows, jr. shows, live animal workshops and exhibit opportunities. As of now, we are planning for a poultry show at the fair; HOWEVER, we will abide by IDOA policies regarding avian influenza. We will post updates as we receive them here and on our website. Visit Illinois Department of Agriculture website for more information. https://www2.illinois.gov/sites/agr/Pages/default.aspx
